帕斯克酒莊歷史

克里斯·帕斯克(Chris Pask)於 1960 年從英國移民到紐西蘭,他在北島的霍克斯灣地區上空 (Hawke’s Bay) 駕駛農作物噴霧機 25 年;在空中,他發現了古老的 Ngaruroro 河床輕質礫石土壤的潛力。

1981 年,他創立了帕斯克酒莊;也是第一位在今天享譽全球的 Gimblett Gravels (金布利礫石區) 種植葡萄的先驅。

帕斯克葡萄園

香氣:濃郁的深色水果味,柔和的新鮮研磨黑胡椒氣息,還有紫色花香、甘草、咖啡和香柏橡木香氣。

口感:優雅且多汁,酒體中等,質地柔滑,風味濃郁。單寧多汁,尾韻悠長。

搭配食物:北京烤鴨、牛排、烤牛肉或豬肉菜餚,辣義式臘腸 (Salami) 比薩、義式肉醬麵及烤鮪魚。開胃菜拼盤:義式臘腸 (Salami)、起司、橄欖和番茄乾,以及藍紋乳酪 (Roquefort)。

Pask History:
In 1960 Chris Pask emigrated from England to New Zealand. For 25 years he flew his crop spraying plane over the Hawke’s Bay region of the North Island. It was in the air that he spotted the potential of the light, stony soils of the ancient Ngaruroro riverbed. 

In 1981 he founded the Pask winery. The first vines were planted in what today is the world-renowned Gimblett Gravels wine-growing district. 

Pask Vineyards:
Pask has 60 hectares of vineyards which lie in the Gimblett Gravels Winegrowing District which is in the Hawke’s Bay region, on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. This is one of the hottest and sunniest areas of New Zealand with 2320 annual sunshine hours, moderate rainfall, and a warm maritime climate with a long growing season.

Hawke’s Bay has more than 4000 hectares of grapevines and is best known for Cabernet/ Merlot blends, Syrah and Chardonnay. Hawke’s Bay is the second largest wine-growing region in New Zealand and produces approximately 10% of New Zealand’s wine. 90% of New Zealand’s Syrah, Cabernet, and Merlot are produced here. 

Gimblett Gravels is a unique terroir, comprising alluvial deposits exposed when the Ngaruroro River flooded and established a new path 100 years ago. The soil is low in nutrients and laden with stones, gravel and silt. It is this soil, coupled with the area’s warmth, that makes it a perfect spot for viticulture and an integral component of the Pask winegrowing story.

Daytime temperatures in Gimblett Gravels can be up to 3 degrees warmer during the day in summer and autumn compared with most other areas in Hawke’s Bay, while thermal conductivity in the stones contributes to warmer evenings. With the Pask vineyard sheltered from winds by Roy’s Hill, hot daytime temperatures coupled with the warming effects of the stony soil produce grapes of intense flavor.

Merlot has an excellent natural aptitude to the vineyard microclimate of Pask and is the most widely planted variety. It is supported by significant plantings of Chardonnay, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Maturation: 14 months in French oak barrels

Aroma: Rich dark berries, blackcurrant, roasted bell-pepper and dark spices, dark plums matched with cedar, vanilla and violet floral aromas.

Palate: Rich fruit flavors of black berries, plums and black cherries with subtle earth, tobacco, and herbs. An elegant and approachable wine with good texture, velvety tannins, and a long finish.

Recommended Serving Temperature: 16-18 degrees

Cellaring Potential: 10 years.

2013 Pask Declaration Cabernet Merlot Malbec
13.5% ABV

Grape Varieties: 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 15% Malbec

Maturation: Aged in 85% new French and American oak barrels for 19 months.

Aroma: Ripe dark fruits: blackberry, black currant, black plums, cocoa powder, and nuances of dried herbs and elegant oak.

Palate: Concentrated juicy dark fruit flavors with great texture that glides across the palate. A medium-bodied wine that is incredibly smooth.

Complementary Food: grilled lamb, steak, grilled pork chops, hard cheese

Recommended Serving Temperature: 16-18 degrees

Cellaring Potential: 15+ years.

2016 Pask Declaration Chardonnay
13% ABV

Maturation: Aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 11 months

Aromas: Rich white fruits, mature citrus, elegant oak, butterscotch.

Palate: Silky smooth with creamy texture, round and rich with mild acidity. Incredibly elegant and delicate. Delicious mild citrus fruits that refresh with hints of minerals, oak and warmth on a lingering finish.

Complementary Food: Rich fish dishes, salmon, roast chicken, lobster, scallops, mushroom dishes, grilled veal, pumpkin ravioli.

Recommended Serving Temperature: 10-12 degrees

Cellaring Potential: 8 years.

2013 Pask Declaration Merlot
13.5% ABV

Maturation: 18 months in French oak barrels (80% new)

Aroma: Ripe berries and plums, hints of bacon and smoke, violet floral aromas, and sweet oak nuances. 

Palate: Elegant medium-bodied red wine with flavors of ripe dark fruits and silky ripe tannins,  lingering finish. Delicate texture and lingering finish.

Complementary food: grilled chicken, lamb kebabs, filet mignon steak, venison, semi-hard cheese like Camembert, Gouda and Gruyere.

Recommended Serving Temperature: 16-18 degrees

2014 Pask Declaration Syrah

Maturation: 16 months in French oak barrels (80% new)

Aromas: Rich dark fruits, gentle freshly crushed black pepper, purple flowers, liquorice, coffee, and cedary oak.

Palate: Elegant and juicy, medium bodied, silky texture, dense with great concentration of flavor. Juicy tannins and long finish.

Complementary food: Peking Duck, Steak, grilled beef or pork dishes, spicy salami pizza, spaghetti bolognese, grilled tuna, antipasto platter: of salami, cheese, olives and sundried tomatoes; Roquefort/blue-veined cheeses.

Recommended Serving Temperature: 16-18 degrees
